The Challenge Ahead
We have a vacant position for an outstanding Senior Producer. We are looking for somebody with a great interest in games and a real eye for quality. This is a key person within the management team who will gather, record and communicate the game design to the whole team and manage the changes.
What a Senior Producer does at EA:
The Senior Producer will oversee the whole lifecycle of the games from concept to launch. A crucial part of the process will be to ensure that game designers clearly define the game concepts and the market positioning of the games including defining the target audience. This person will provide the link and liaise between internal and external development teams plus the marketing people to ensure the maximization of the marketing strategy and budget.
As a Senior Producer, you will be responsible for the whole strategic game planning and delivery of the game. You are also expected to drive the overall quality as well as taking a leading role in creating a high-performance culture. Other critical responsibilities include staffing reviews, people management and leadership, budget management and deadline goals. You will establish, evaluate and refine an effective project management process. You are also accountable for the maintenance of an accurate and up to date Project Plan at an appropriate level of detail. This should define both the strategy and high level (roadmap/milestone) plan for the game being worked on. You will set clear overall and interim goals for the whole team, ensuring that these goals are communicated and tracked.
The next great EA Senior Producer also needs:
- Candidates are expected to possess a minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Producer within the video game industry, some of those years as Senior Producer
- Extensive experience leading, motivating and driving teams to success; an ability to know what types of products and features that will sell and what won’t sell and be able to assess the feasibility of producing a new products/features;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; broad knowledge of the software/game market and platforms; assertive and outstanding team player; high level of emotional intelligence. A strong online technical background is a plus.
- In addition to these foundational production skills and experience, the ideal candidate for the Producer, would have a strong handle on established and emerging online business models, and knowledge/experience in driving digital console development and a passion for gaming and building games.
